ESET Smart Security is a tightly integrated solution designed to protect computers from a range of threats. Built on the award-winning ESET NOD32® Antivirus and its powerful ThreatSense® engine, ESET Smart Security provides antispyware, antispam and customized firewall features. Utilizing ThreatSense — the industry's most advanced heuristics — the window of vulnerability between virus outbreak and signature update is reduced.
The key advantage of this approach is that individual protection modules are able to communicate together seamlessly, to create unparalleled synergy to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of protection. Moreover, the integrated architecture guarantees optimal utilization of system resources, so ESET Smart Security continues ESET's well know reputation for providing rock solid security in a small footprint that will not slow down an individual's computer.

Version 4.0.437 ChangeLogs:

Fixed: After installation of ESET Smart Security 4.0.424 some web sites are blocked with http scanner (seznam.cz)
Fixed: Thunderbird plugin may corrupt email in some occasions + several minor fixes
Minor fixes in ESET SysInspector
Fixed: Problem with the creation of Rescue CD after reinstallation from ESET Smart Security 4 to ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4

Hello, Thanks for the release, but I wanted to point out that the archives at hotfileDOTcom are confused - the supposed 32bit archive contains a 64bit installer and vise-versa. So if someone wants a 32bit package, download from the 64bit hotfile link... The rapidshare links are alright...

It's kinda hard to tell what may happen. But as of right now mine updates fine. Upgraded from Smart security 2 to Smart security 64 bit version 4.
This new version bugs me about updating my operating system so I found out how to turn that off.

Also don't get the passwords mixed up like I did. There's Smart security and antivirus.
The text file found in the 64 bit version are toast. I used the file "New Serial Updater 1" to find a good password.
The file "Eset login viewer v1.3.exe" tried to install something on my machine so stay away from that one if you may.

Best of luck.

this is really good... but if you need maximum security, combine this with a good firewall (u need 2 turn the eset's firewall off)... Just find a good firewall too like Outpost or ZAP something.

Just download NodEnabler from here and follow the instructions in the readme file. You can always get the latest ESET releases directly from their servers and you won't have to worry about manually dealing with usernames and passwords for updates.

Nodenabler really is the ticket. It automatically checks for the keys from several of the sites previously listed and inserts them directly into your eset. You can choose to have it run automatically at login and at a given interval. Mine runs at startup and every 72 hours if the computer is on for that long without reboot.
