ive downloaded, installed, ran patch, and keygen (CS5 is listed) to obtain the serial. i can go into 1 program at a time with the key applied, but each time i go into a different program. i am once again asked for a new key. any suggestions?
I found out what was wrong for those who keep having to reenter a key every time they open up the program.
What's happening is that the patcher isn't working so you are going to have to manual fix it.
Here's how to do that.
Open up notepad, BE SURE TO RUN IT AS ADMINISTRATOR. You can run as admin by right clicking on notepad and selecting run as administrator. from the file menu your going to have to navigate to a file called hosts.
It is located at C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts:
create a new line after all the text inside the file
copy and paste this line into there; 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com
Save the file and it should work again.
If it still asks you to reenter a key just do so and then it should work.
It might also be a good idea not to register for the CS Liver service but I really don't know what those are so maybe it would be.
You have to keep this installation from reaching the internet ever. Adding the site 127.0.0.1 to the host file is not enough. If you use Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 like I am you need to deny access to all of adobes cs5 programs from using network resources.
Kaspersky tip for blocking outgoing connections for locally installed software. Disable your damn internet connection before during and after installation of CS5 or it will give you trouble 100% guarantee. Now open KIS by double clicking on the big "K" in task panel. Select "My Security Zone" and then application activity. Now you right click on each Adobe Program in this list that is adobe related. Right click-> Select Rules for application-> Rules-> Add-> Tick "Block"-> Select "Any Network Activity"-> Select "Any Address"-> OK
Do this for each adobe program and you will receive one point under networking administrator.
I tried adding those entries to the host file the first time I installed the suite and patched. It didn't stop cs5 from connecting home. After you start an adobe cs5 product it calls home and says you have a blacklisted serial number and asks if you want to start 30 day trial.
I had to uninstall the suite and use "crap cleaner". After the second attempt of installation, I neutered all the networking capabilities of the Adobe Suite with a third party firewall and all programs operate without any obtrusive nags.
The keygen and patch works like a charm. I wish CS3 and CS4 had worked so fast.
i will answer Sharks question. Yes cs5 will work on 32bit and 64 editions. When u install it, if your running 64bit, it installs both 64 and 32bit. Hope this helps

I've never had trouble with CS5 during ANY point (installation or use)
Course I don't use Kapersky's anymore, I use ESET now. Doesn't spaz out like Kaperskies does.
Is there a way just to download and install Photoshop CS5 Extended and Bridge CS5, I don't need the other programs
