Video → Movies → avi will not play in media player

have downloaded avi movie that has no picture when played in windows media player 11 have sound but no picture?

SAME HERE. I DOWNLOADED A FILM, XVID OR SMTH LIKE THAT. TRIED INSTALLING A BUNCH OF CODECS, DOWNLOADED SOME AVI PLAYER, AND STILL NOT WORKING

i have a bunch of .avi files of kids, when i play in media player or other sound is not coming, tried installing bunch of codes, still doesn't help. when i tried to see if there are any audio there, it says audio format is pcm raw. tried getting codec for that, but it is not working. help please, it is a very important video of son, when he was year old. thanks.
