HI Everyone ,

i'm new to this so if i break any thread rules i apologize. but i'm having trouble with my m-audio interface. i bought it about 5yrs ago in the store (it came with an installation cd ......i remember having trouble back then but eventually got it working). so here i am 5yrs later with my new studio set-up trying to figure out why neither of my two cpu's wont recognize my device. i have installed/uninstalled , went to device manager performed a ,"scan for hardware changes"....also ,"update driver" (after i reinstalled the driver windows told me that no drivers were installed for this device) i and got; 1)unkown device 2) driver installed but with problems 3)device cannot start. i went to the guitar center where i bought it and asked if they could check whether or not the device was defective.......of course they didn't but they told me just because the light doesn't come on doesn't mean that the interface is broken because it will only work when the proper drivers are installed. they showed me to the website where updated drivers could be downloaded......so i went downloaded and installed the updated drivers.....still nothing. So at this time one of my cpu's is an atleast 5yr old toshiba satellite l15 with windows xp sp2 , and during the time i'm playing around with the toshiba and interface i buy a brand new e-machine desktop (AMD II ATHALON 2.38GHZ...3GB MEMORY,1 TERABYTE HDD, WINDOWS HOME7). i go to plug in my interface to my new machine!!!!! and nothing.........since i was playin around back and forth between the toshiba and my e-machine i find that i had better luck with plug and play with my trusty old toshiba and decided i wasn't impressed with windows7 wiped it kleen and put windows xp on my e-machine.........STILL NOTHING ..........CAN ANYONE HELP ME???

hey bud, it sounds like compatibility issue with the driver you are installing... did you try to check in the manufacturers site if it supports the OS's (Operating System)that your on? be wary if it support service pack 1,2 or 3 in XP or service pack 1 or 2 in windows 7... Good Luck!
