Forgive me if I sound stupid but what is a self keygen?

I am getting pretty good at patching things and serial fishing too. I been practicing alot and I think all of this information is finally sinking in. Olly is becoming a 3rd language to me but i still think theres alot more of the vocabulary I still need to learn . I am just beginning to understand how some serials are made and figuring out their algorithms(but nothing too advance yet).

Next I plan to learn how to use dup and patch several programs since I never used it before. I also want to try a self keygen but i have no idea what it is? Can someone explain it for me please. and if anyone has a dup tutorial or any tips on how to use it feel free to give them to me . I haven't opened dup yet but i plan to do it tonight

A Self keygen is when you moddify it to display the correct serial.

ie : instead of saying 'Sorry your Serial Is Incorrect'
you have the app push the correct serial , and display it , instead of the badboy.

Dysfunction is right.. or it self keygen can be shown on the textbox or the serial box of the program you are cracking... im also learning this self keygen coz making a keygen is hard for me...

It's usually the easiest method to get valid keys, and a good step towards making a keygen.
