Web StuffWeb Scripts and ScriptingHow should I start? A web site that is...

Kind of stupid... maybe.... I would like to start a web site that... no... let me put it another way... I'm tired of the sell-out politicians say what I can and cannot do.. WE live in 21.st century. Isn't a time that we all have say in what do WE want? Polititians promise... yup.... proimise, they'll do something... It never works.

So.... I would like to start a web site were everyone could vote... You don't have to count on the sell-out politicians, who "may" do you right.

So.... how do I go about it?
I'm in Poland right now, so that's where I'd like to begin... but it is something, that should be international....

If... And i mean IF... I'll manage to start this kind of site, I will need help. If anyone believes that my idea could work, and would like to help me with it, please contact me at RafVne2@gmail.com., or here.

Thank you... I guess.

I would say what you are looking for is a blog. These are your own little personal space on the web, that are completely free, and increasingly popular. They are also very customizable for people who may have little or no knowlege developing a website.
Look at Blogger.com for more info.

You can like the last poster said go to blogger.com they have alot of free tools to equip your blog and make it modern,With video, music and such. Or for a longer term project without fears of being censored or more likely removed,Pay for some good quality inexpensive hosting with your very own dot com name,Then the possibilities are more secure, and virtually endless by using Word Press self hosted platform the sky is the limit, not wanting to create a debate on this subject but after 8 years online in my best opinion Word Press cannot be matched for beginners and pro online entities .With all the addons the sky is not even a limit.
Hope this helps

raf696,
first there is no such thing as a "stupid" question! The only thing that is stupid is NOT asking questions!

tobyb121 & 4FINGERS are correct about blogs, Wordpress and dot.coms. Domain names have become very affordable along with hosting sites, I have my personal favs but I'm not posting them here as I don't want it to appear that I am advertising, however if you are interested PM me and I will give you details.

In my opinion, Wordpress is the most user friendly platform available today plus there is a huge number of themes and plugins available to suit most every desire and need! I will be posting many releases comprised of mostly WP themes so keep watching or if your looking for a specific theme post a request or pm me and I will try to accommodate.
Best of luck with whatever you decide!

Wordpress is 100% FREE! It's the themes and plugins that can cost money ranging from a couple of $$ to a lot of $$$$'s depending on what it is. I have played with WP somewhat but not enough to where I am comfortable but it is amazing what type of website that can be designed ranging from a simple blog which is what WP started life as to a big dollar e-commerce website! WP is not the only platform out there either. there is Drupal, Joomla, and a host of others and don't forget html, php, perl, java ect ect. Personalty I like hard coding but it takes time to learn and do but at least when something goes wrong you know why! With all of the WYSIWYG editors it's drag and drop but what I don't like is that it does not teach you anything at all! But thats just my opinion. Also you can create your own Wordpress theme with programs like Artisteer! If you seek to build a bbs or forum such as this you can build one with phpBB3 absolutely free! Again you can purchase themes and skins for this as well if you want it fancy. I have a bunch of WordPress & phpBB3 links if you would like to learn more or see how much free stuff is available completely free! Just let me know if your interested.
