AudioMusicAny GOOD alternatives to Limewire?

17 Jul 2009, 18:45

Has anyone else noticed how Limewire has went downhill in terms of audio recently? Seems more results from search are spam. If downloading single tracks is there anything better out there? Half wonder if its the version Im using although cant for the life of me think why

I used to use a program called Bearshare a few years ago. Haven't used it in years but it worked for me back then. Might want to try it out.

I use a program called grabit i think you have to pay for it though im not sure i use my friends account but it has everything from programs to games to music to movies, i use it whenever asta fails me, which isnt alot haha. I do know that if you do have to pay for it it's very cheap. AND you don't have to go through all of the virus's like you do on limewire, it also has great download speed quicker then most of the sites used here

mp3 rocket is good also and free, it looks alot like frostwire/limewire. LIke NightIXI, i only use it when asta fails which isn't too often but it seems to be a good program. I used to use Frostwire but seems like once they had an update it would glich out on me, but had used that for years. Good luck with your search!

try frostwire. its basically exactly like what limewire pro 4.8 used to be except free (open-source). i'm not sure if its as fast as they claim though. works for me great.

i do believe that both Limewire and frostwire are ran on the same p2p network, so frostwire wouldn't necessarily be a good alternative to limewire. it's free, and it's basically limewire pro, but it still uses the same code, and p2p network, so it dosen't do any good

Personally, I've used Limewire Pro, Frostwire, and Cabos before. I eventually stopped 'cause, like you said, they've become filled with junk and etc. Now, I just use google with certain keywords and 99% of the time, I actually get what I want within a couple of minutes.

not a downloading solution (i use demonoid or astatalk)...but i like grooveshark.com and pandora.com

grooveshark lets you build an online library of uploaded music. not illegal. ur not downloading it! ;D

and pandora is a great way to find new music. 8)

I'd go with torrents if you absolutely have to use p2p. I get all my stuff here though, specially since my college bans you from the network for employing p2p programs.

I recommend either Frostwire or if you aren't TOO afraid of torrents, http://coda.fm/ is a fantastic music torrent site. I've only had good experiences there.
