GeneralAstatalk FAQ and supportText Section

28 Oct 2009, 22:08

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this. ....removed other link (shensta Mod) but I thought maybe I should post here, where mods are more likely to see it.

My post:

"Why does this show up in Text -> Non-Fiction? And far too many other things are showing up in Text -> Miscellaneous. Should the classifications be changed from "Non-Fiction" to "Non-Fiction Text" and "Miscellaneous" to "Miscellaneous Text" or something? It seems redundant since they're already listed under "Text", but it might make for better organization."

Basically, the Text -> Miscellaneous section is being treated like a general miscellaneous section in some cases, and I'm assuming that's because when you do a release, all that shows up in the category choices is "Miscellaneous". I'm noticing it in the Text -> Non-Fiction section, too, as in that release. It's a little irritating.

People also seem a little unclear on the difference between "non-fiction", and "miscellaneous". I assume the former is for non-fiction books like biographies, current events, and how-to books, and the latter is meant for miscellaneous documents - manuals, random recipes, essays, articles, etc.

Is there any way to make things clearer? Like, maybe change "Miscellaneous" to "Miscellaneous Documents" and "Non-Fiction" to "Non-Fiction Books"?

TIA to the mods.

ETA: I could also just be wrong, and these things belong in the sections they're showing up in. :)

i agree it is unclear to me and i just started posting there and will continue to do so as i have thousands of ebooks on my hard drive im really unsure which one to set my post i just pick one on a whim really but ive noticed some people automatically post everything in both sections at the same time that seems a little redundant you may as well have one section then.

Also if you suggestion for improvements this would be the section to do it, also if you like you can read through or discuss this in the discussion threads posted in the text-section itself Text. hope this helps...
