hi everyone. I have a 512Mb of RAM and only 120 GB of HDD, can I upgrade my RAM to 2gb or 4gb and can I also upgrade my HDD to 320 GB? I'm not good when it comes to hardware, so could you help me pls...thanks in advance

you can upgrade/change your HDD to 320GB or 500GB but for upgradation of RAM you need to know which MOBO (Motherboard) you are using. If you can give us the make and model number of your mobo then we can suggest you if your mobo supports 2GB ram or 4GB ram.

and they have a scanner to scan your system and tell you what kind of RAM you have, how much RAM you CAN have, what slots are open and all different scenarios for upgrades

probably but for that well need to know what socket you have your motherboard manual might tell you. if you know what kind of motherboard you have you can just post it here and we can tell you what your options are. if yer not sure just open up the case and the motherboard type should be stamped on it somewhere ,itll say intel or amd etc.. with a model number after it. your cpu sockeet may even be stamped on the board next to the cpu even, it would be a series of numbers like lga 775 or pga 940 some are marked some arnt it would be right next to te cpu if it was anyway just post what info you got and someone will get back to you

guys i have a DDR2 PC533..can i upgrade it to 1-2GB? i can't find what kind of motherboard i have..by the way it's a laptop and my processor is Intel Pentium M740 Dothan Core 1.73GHz 2MB cache 533 MHz FSB..could you help me know what my options are with my laptop? because i am planning to change my OS from WinXP to WIn7...thanks in advance guys...

i have a dell latitude D610 laptop..could you help me understand when socket type is socket 479 and the package is 478-pin micro FC-PGA? is there any difference between socket 478 and socket 479 processors?thanks..

2.) Pentium M 770 Processor - 2.13 GHz, 2MB, 770, Pentium-M Dothan, 533FSB
3.) Pentium M 760 Processor - 2.0 GHz, 2MB, 760, Pentium-M Dothan, 533FSB
4.) Pentium M 750 Processor - 1.86 GHz, 2MB, 750, Pentium-M Dothan, 533FSB
5.) Pentium M 740 Processor - 1.73 GHz, 2MB, 740, Pentium-M Dothan, 533FSB (slowest upgrade)

for other upgrades i recommend going to dell .com try this link it has a scanner to scan your system for possible upgrades
