CrackingCracking Tutorials[Tutorial] Removing or changing a Label

Since the thread where I posted these tutorials is gone, I will repost them here. This is probably not of much help, but everyone don't know how to do it.

No offense, but you don't remove the label, just the text.
Is there any tutorial on how to remove the label completely and not just the text ?

But if the label's text is gone you wouldn't even know there is a label there. It's pretty much like removing the label. What do you mean by removing the label completely?

Well, suppose there's a mousclick event or a mouseOver event attached to the label.
Then you would still see the cursor change and be able to click on the label, because the label has a minimum width, even if there's no text.

By removing it completely I mean editing the program so the label doesn't even initialise.

Had a few tries at it, but the program never works when I do the editing. I'd also like to know how to do that. I hope someone can tell us. :)

I found a way to do it with Delphi programs. It's very simple with Resource Hacker.

I made a quick tutorial:

The tutorial is about removing a button, but you can remove a label the same way. :)
If you don't have ResHack, you can get it here:

hmmm, I just tried it with reshack and I get a message that says that the file is not a valid Win32 file after i remove the label.
The program I tried it with was written in delphi 7.

I tried it with many Delphi programs. I even removed images with no problem.
Maybe you did something wrong or the target is compressed or protected somehow. :|
Give me the target and I'll have a look at it. :)

O, have a look at this.
Maybe I did something wrong to the program when I cracked it.
The keygen that's included was made by Chookie and is merely a timesaver, cause it's really easy to fish the key.

I'm trying to remove the Tlabel Tlinternet because the programmer created a bug with the rollovereffect.

Yes, I get the same error when removing the label. I tried unpacking it myself (ASPack is the only one I can unpack) and when it was unpacked the program didn't run at all. So I had a look at it in Olly and patched it so it wouldn't exit, but then the program gave an EAccessViolation error. :|

If you still haven't got that label removed, try another resource editor. ResHack can't handle unpacked executables. Try a resource editor like this one (you can remove the label with this one):

And here's the executable with the label removed:

Ah, thanks a lot, I didn't look at this for a while but I'm glad you did.
I made it work now using the other resource hacker.
