some bios have default passwords, if you have AWARD Bios you can try "award"
Otherwise you can reset all bios setting. I know 3 ways:
1). The most easy, put away the battery element on your motherboard, wait for some seconds and then put it back.
2). Put away BIOS chipset and put it back. It usually resets BIOS too. But be careful not to damage BIOS Chipset.
3). Every motherboard has a way to reset BIOS with Jumpers.
Find in your Motherboard manual correspondent Jumper and put it as described in your manual to reset BIOS.

AS GD stated, remove the CMOS BATT for at least 1 minute. Some mobo's have a pin you can move and then you have to move it back. Find the motherboard manual for you machine and read it. It is not difficult.

Here's the user's Guide:

Here's the downloads' page:

Note: some passwords are just blank ... You don't enter any pass even though it asks for one.

Here's more info on BIOS Passwords:

I found this:

You're wasting your time. The password on this laptop (and most other modern laptops) is stored on a security chip = resetting the CMOS; removing the CMOS battery; re-flashing the BIOS; etc. all have NO bearing on the password.

Security-chip-enabled laptops have excellent security -- they truly keep unauthorized users from accessing your laptop (excellent protection against data loss for stolen laptops). Unfortunately, they also keep legitimate users who have forgotten the password (such as in this case) from accessing the laptop.

You mght give these guys a call -- they don't list your model, but may have some information on it [Note that most Toshiba Satellite's have "No Solution" listed ... an indication of just how good the security chip works] = if you're lucky there may be a replacement security chip you can buy ... but you need excellent soldering skills to remove/replace one of these chips.

The only way to regain access to the laptop is to have the unit serviced at an authorized Toshiba repair facility ... and it's not an inexpensive repair (typically a few hundred $$). They also require proof of ownership before they'll even do the repair for this issue.

I do not have experience flashing Toshiba laptops - may or may not be true.

I had to reset my Toshiba Satelite Laptop Bios/Cmos password. The procedure involved removing the case to access the battery on the motherboard. unsolder one terminal of the battery, wait a few minutes and resolder the terminal again. A little tricky but it worked.
