VideoMoviesHow to get a D/L'd .avi to play on DVD player

29 Jul 2010, 19:47

I have found so many great releases on this site, but I would really like to be able to watch them on my 42" tv.I have burned many .avi's hoping to be able to do so,but as soon as I put it in the player,I get a message that the format/disc is not readable. What format is needed to play on a dvd player? When I do burn them,I can watch on my PC,so what am I doing wrong?

There are dvd players that support avi...got one at walmart called divx player..you can burn avi as data and fit 5 or 6 movies on one dvd and it will play most formats.

I use Cyberlink. I can author my own movies with scenes and menus. Just search for Cyberlink. You should find something.

The cheapest way is to get a dvd player that supports avi. Or do like I do..run a video cable from your comp to your tv.
