I think your registry error has been fixed.
The problem is most likely caused by a malware. Whenever you login, it will make you logoff automatically.
Do you have any important data in your system ? |

| No, I simply have music and videos I personally like on my computer. However I know I might have to take drastic steps to fix my system. |

If you don't have anything important i would suggest you to format everything and install fresh.
If you don't want to format let me know. |

| can you tell me the alternative method so I can get a copy of the music and certain programs I have on my system. So I can reformat the system while having an idea of the files I would want to download again on my system (clean) of course. I am not going to use copied files from the hard drive. Ill look for them various other ways. |

The last time I had a problem with a drive (I really messed up the registry so all file associations were not longer valid), I freaked out. I had a lot of files I could not replace on that drive and I did not want to reformat.
But then I got to thinking. If I buy a new hard drive, and install an OS to it, I could put the old (messed up drive) as a slave do some transferring.
$60 later (for the new HD), I had the important files transferred (to the new drive).. Then I reformatted the old drive. Reinstalled the operating system (on the old drive) and then transfered the files back. The drive I bought then became a good drive to sync my personal files to (after the recovery).
Now, I keep four drives - One for the OS, a second for my personal files, a third external drive (through eSATA) for backups of everything, and a fourth drive for syncing backups of my personal files for double redundancy (Files I can't replace - though I also make data disks - but can't always be done in "real time").
In your case, you may want to consider connecting the drive that doesn't work to another computer as a slave. Transfer the files you want. Then reformat. Then transfer back. |

Getting all your drivers off the net isn't always possible because you may not be able to connect. You will need Windows 7 drivers for your motherboard first. Then you should be able to connect.
Before installing the new OS, make sure your motherboard's drivers are compatible with Windows 7. Not all of them are.
If you just want to back up the drivers already on your computer, you can use a program called DriveMax. It works with XP and Vista -- Since Windows 7 isn't released yet, I'm not sure it will work with the new operating system.
Here's some info on the program:

Windows 7 is quite new to me. I would not recommend it on a computer that has an important purpose (like for example, work or school). However, if you just want to mess around with it and don't mind reinstalling again (if things go wrong), give it a try. But you risk some problems as it has not officially been released and probably still has many bugs.
You may also find some software/drivers no longer compatible.
Of course, the choice is yours. |

True. Sorry for that. So what does the manufacturer of your motherboard's website say about Windows 7 drivers? |

| your right actually. my motherboard is too old to run windows seven im sure of it. is there a way to get rid of the malware so i can log in and stay in my profile? I just need to login once so I can save the drivers. I use a lot of equipment that i no lomger have the disc to load their drivers so I would have a near useless system without the current drivers. When Iog in i get as far as the desktop background then it auto logs me out, safe mode shouldn't be able to do that |

You should be able to find all drivers on the net, including the latest for your motherboard (which should include the LAN driver). Since you are able to log on to Asta, I assume you can visit the net and download/burn the drivers to a disk on whatever computer you are using to post here. Once you clean install your operating system, you should be good to go hunting for the drivers to all the old equipment - just because you don't have the disc, doesn't mean they are not on the net.
But try something first... Is your system logging off or restarting?
If it is restarting, it maybe a heat/hardware problem. Open the computer up and do a thorough cleaning of all dust with canned air. Make sure all fans are spinning and the clips to your heatsinks are firmly in place. Reboot and try again.
If it is simply logging you off and forcing you to the log on screen again, it is malware.
