Note: I need to change the secondary aspect ratio to make it work properly. Smile

I made this for my college project as well as for Tech-Fest.
and won Wow

Works but dont ask me why, no direct sparks but when you take a tube say 3 to 4 inches away, sparks appear
I would improve it, I need to change the aspect ratio and increase primary turns.

This won me a Gold in Tech-Fest

but the only reason I won a gold was because people there didnt knew much about tesla coil, and I told them one huge lie

I said I reduced the efficience so that sparks dont come out directly as I had to display it along with other people's electronic models. xD

and the best par was that they believed it Very Happy

but I am gonna improve it and well soon gonna make that lie change to truth. :P

My Tesla Coil Configuration:
=====================

Primary Transformer Output Voltage (VAC) 6000.0000
Primary Transformer Rated Current (AMP) 0.0300
Primary Transformer Input Frequency (HZ) 50.0000
Primary Transformer Input Voltage (VAC) 220.0000
Primary Transformer PFC Rating (%) 100.0000

Total Diameter (IN) 26.52
Wire Length (FT) 36.02

sorry for the low quality images, I had a real shitty mobile camera

This is me with other gold medal winners of all trades at Tech-Fest

wow got to hear your voice for the first time Smile

Your experiment is awsome, so happy you one first prize.

I wonder if you made it star shaped with points you would get bigger sparks Think

How much did it cost to make?

Thanks Wow

star should work but there will be problems in calculating its proper capacitance :\
otherwise that should work too its all a matter of proper tuning. Smile

It took me Rs. 5000 (100 $) to make this project. Smile

The sparks from this can go to like 10 to 16 inches easily, I just need to increase the dia of secondary, reduce the length of secondary and reduce the size of the top load acc to the secondary Smile

Should cost me around 10$ more and 1 day labor to get it tuned properly Smile

would do that soon in like a week or so then post those pics too Smile

Congrats Great Project you earned your medal.
Maybe if you take it to a desert it will spark better

Lol I don't think that desert will help, coz temperature will increase and along with that resistance will increase and reduce output Smile

Idk how much will they effect but surely wont make the sparks better Wink

when we used to do this at school the teacher used a hair dryer to make the air less moist so i think thats why banksiaman suggested taking it to the desert

I have no idea abt that Oh

maybe Ill test that phenomenon in next weak, I am gonna do the secondary winding on a 3 inch dia pipe tommorow Wow

then tune the coil again for better performance Smile
