Hi, I made this thread because I thought it was a great idea to make a list of useful plugins for newbies and for those that don't have much time but need a great result fast.
Some plugins are useful to some, others are useful to others.
I don't use plugins (they are always installed but I just don't load them to photoshop) most of the time, just when I do things that are not that important... 
If you really love photoshop like most of us here, then a great idea is to use plugins to get an effect and then try to reproduce it so that you can prove to yourself that you can do it on your own.
I generally use photography plugins because they give great tools for fixing photos (exposure, contrast etc.), although I learned to use all of the plugins posted.
So, all of the plugins posted in this thread were tested by me and they all work!
The biggest problem some of you might get is that you'll install a bunch of the plugins and then you try to run PS and suddenly it loads for about 3 minutes... Bad idea! (happened to me also  )
If you do use the plugins often, you might want to keep them and not uninstall them but you can keep the fast loading of you PS by adding a tilde (~) to the beginning of the plugin name or plugin folder. (PS ignores these files)

You can only ask if you have problems with installing certain plugin. I know the plugins' names so there's no need to quote the post where the plugin was mentioned. If we do have a discussion aboout installing plugins, don't quote the previous conversation, I can keep up with the talk...
For everything else you should make your own thread or post in ones that have the purpose to answer you question...
If you do not follow the rules, I WILL STOP posting new plugins and all of my links WILL BE deleted...

This extraction process creates what is known as a mask--essentially a black and white cutout. White mask areas are extracted, black areas not, and gray areas in between represent a level of transparency. Once a mask is extracted, the foreground object can be seamlessly composed onto a new background in Adobe Photoshop or Photoshop Elements as well as apply filter and image corrections only within the area defined by the mask.
