Well... After seeing rawlwear's thread I thought it would be interesting to see who's OS were purchased (or pre-included with their PC) or downloaded from the magical thing we call the internet...

Yeah, mine is legal.
There are only 2 things that I don't want to be illegal on my computer: Operating System, and Security Software. They are, in my opinion, the most important elements (of software) in a computer. Using cracks and stuff on software, you're not always sure what they will really do - not a risk I'd like to take on OS or Security.

That's a good opinion to have, but I don't think I can take buying licenses to Security Software. One-off payments are fine, but for the best security (IMO - NOD32/Kapersky) you have to pay numerous times.
And my OS is legal - Windows XP MCE 2005, came with my PC. Smile

Yeah the multiple payments can be a pain alright [I have Kaspersky Tongue], but IMO it's worth it in the long run Smile
At least it's not like...once a month or anything Very Happy

Good to see another person on the legit bandwagon Wow

I dunno, I know I have a legal disk somewhere, but I don't know if i'm using it... one to many reformats lol

But there is no way to check...

btw, I stole most of my school XP + office 2003 keys and they never get blacklisted cause I don't post them around the web... So technically I have a legal Office 2003 too lol
