and supposedly metal rock isn't screaming (growling in fact)?? and death metal talking about hate??... please think before saying or in this case typing something...
not: i am not for hiphop nor against rock.... i just want to have a discussion/debate with someone... hehehe... |
So you want me to start thinking before I post now? And change my whole strategy?
I'm referring more to classic rock, but there is less hate in rock than there is in hip-hop/rap. You can't even compare the two in a rational way and come up with something like that. |
You could start by not posting remarks like this...
| Quote: |
| What exactly is rap/hiphop? Because it sure ain't music of any kind. |
What you do not consider music is considered music by many. There are many professionals in the rap/hiphop industry and it is played as music on tv and radio and you can buy rap/hiphop dvds.
Try thinking about your wording. |
I stand by my remark, as that was the beginning of a good debate.
It many be considered music by many, but it is also NOT considered music by many others. Screaming hate and death into a microphone to a bass beat is in no way true music.
But, as belthagor pointed out, we got off topic. So, I digress. |

Not all rap/hiphop is screaming hate and death. I have heard religious rap. You shouldnt generalize it. I do not like the majority of rap, but then again I do not like no metal at all, but that does not say it is not music. |

I really hate to admit this, but you and I do agree on the metal music. As far as religious rap, I have yet to hear that and donl't know as I would classify it in the same genre as the mainstream rap. The rap I am referring to is the stuff like, "kill your dog and stab your postman" type stuff. I still don't see any skill behind talking into a microphone. |

Is it too late to post. I see that the last post is a couple weeks old
but I don't make it to this neck of the woods very often anyways
here is my 2 cents.
I am a die hard metal head and I am also a big fan of hip hop. I think
people judge music too quickly now adays. Old school rap like De La Soul and Tribe Called Quest and Dell the Funky Homosapien are the masters.
I also like Classic rock and Drum and Bass. I guess my point is that there
is good music everywhere, its your ears that create the problem. If you don't want to hear anything good in a type of music than you are not going
to. Thats like only eating pizza.
My 2 Cents. |
