Here's a poll so you can vote for the 'best' (in your opinion) disk defragmenting software.
I am sure that I did not find them all, nor did I choose to list defragmentation software that is only available as part of a utility suite such as the System Mechanic or Tune-Up Utilities. If you are using something I missed or the defragmentation software that is part of a suite no offense intended, please choose other &, list what program you are using and provide a link if possible.
Please feel free to comment on why you did choose the software you are using.
Thanks for your participation. |

diskeeper I think is the bests, it does real time defraging so you don't need to wait 5 hrs for it to do the drive its always doing it |

| Perfect Disk for me. I have given Iobit's free defragmenter a go; it's supposed to run in the background continually defragging, but I was never quite sure that it really was working, so I went back to Perfect Disk. |

For the informtion to the members who have chosen windows disk defragmentor(the in-built utility in windows).
It is not effective (comparing to other) because The presence of immovable system files, can impede defragmentation. These files can be safely moved when the operating system is not in use(before GUI is loaded) . If the NTFS Master File Table must grow after the partition was formatted, fragmentation of the MFT can occur, and it cannot be safely defragmented while the partition is in use; only some defragmentation programs, such as Diskeeper, are capable of defragmenting the MFT. |
